ON LASU FEE REDUCTION

The Lagos State University Students' Union rejects the 34%-60% reduction of LASU Fee as approved by the State Goverment on grounds that the Goverment is not only insincere but has also created confusion amongst the students populace . In 2011 when the fee was to be increased the Goverment gave the breakdown of the new fees, hence, nothing is stopping them from giving us the breakdown of our new school fees. Lagos state Goverment should stop playing politics with the future of LASUites and Lagosians at large. The students' union will not accept any reduction that is less than 67% across board as it was clearly stated in the Goverment proposal that the fees can still be further reviewed downward on compassionate grounds.67% reduction should be approved by the goverment on compassionate ground as stated in their proposal, failure to do this will leave the union with no option but to continue its agitation until our demand on Fee reduction is met by the Goverment.
